About
I qualified with a BSc in Microbiology from University College Cork in 2000. This was followed by a PhD investigating bacteriophages of lactic acid bacteria under the supervision of Prof Douwe van Sinderen and Prof Gerald Fitzgerald. I am currently a postdoctoral research associate in the laboratory of Mal Horsburgh at the University of Liverpool. My current studies involve the characterisation of interactions of S. aureus with components of the innate immune system. In addition, I am investigating gene regulatory pathways of S. aureus.
